catching up

On Tuesday, my friends and I went to Mackenzie's house for Thanksgiving. This Thanksgiving is the first time for me. I had never eat turkey. The dinner was pretty good! I thought that we Japanese must have Thamksgiving.
I talked her hasband about music. He taught me crazy bands. Especially, Mr.Bungle is the craziest band I have ever seen and Mr. Krinkle by Primus is good song too. I decided to buy Mr.Bungle's CD.

Birthday party and words

Saturday night was Mei's birthday party. I presented her a bottle of ice wine. Do you know ice wine? Dictionary.com says that ice wine is "any white dessert wine produced from grapes that are kept on the vine until the first deep frost and typically pressed while still frozen. " This wine is sooooo sweet but not use sugar. Maybe girls like this as if they feel that they can't drink wine.

In this week, I learnd a lot of words. For example, how to use "hurt" , "comeget" and so on. My favorite word of this week is "celestial". I learnd this word when I studied the moon in reading class. I remember this word again in this week.

Listening to English

In this week, by using the sites of listening and watching movies, I become to understand what they say little by little. I tried to speak English with Japanese friend and I tried to watch TV because it doesn't have subtitles. By the way, I and Katu like Disney channel. In this channel, there are only happiness and laugh. There is not sadness.
I will try to watch movies without subtitles in next week.

Real English
I think that it is easy but I can learn "real" English from this site. This site teaches me many phrases that are used in daily life. Subtitle helps me to understand what it says.

VOA
This site speaks slowly so I can listen to what it says.About quiz, I think that the first site is better than this. When I solved the questions in the First site, I felt that it was like quiz but in this site, I felt that it was like tests.

About this week
From this week, I started to study vocabulary. The texts reached me from Japan. I forgot so many words. I will study hard to talk my friends smoothly.
This weekend was Halloween. I wore Joker costume. It was so fun but so tired. I felt heavy on my face. I want to do it in Japan! Now I have a question. Girls were so cute and sexy with their Halloween costumes. Why ! It is mysterious!  (Of course, they are ALWAYS cute.)

Dear Koji,

Your blog is looking good. It is great to hear about your experiences and challenges at Elmira. Today I would like you to try out a new website. This site is called Real English.

http://www.real-english.com/new-lessons.asp

Start with lesson 1
Try watching the video without subtitles
Scroll down and do the activities on the right of the website.
Some of the activities you can't do because you do not have a recorder. Do the best you can.
Then you can watch the video again with subtitles.
